New Homes for Great Harwood

Housebuilder Keepmoat Homes has started work on site at its Lyndon Park development in Great Harwood, Hyndburn, where 217 new homes will be built, injecting almost £40 million of investment in to the town.

Working in partnership with Hyndburn Council and the Reilly Developments, Keepmoat Homes will be delivering a collection of two, three and four bedroom family homes, including bungalows.

The scheme is being built on land to the south of Harwood Lane, close to the centre of the town. As well as the provision of much-needed new homes, the new development will provide new play equipment and a significantly improved pedestrian link between Lyndon Avenue and Balfour Street.

Twenty per cent of the new homes will be Affordable Housing, aimed at giving further assistance to people wanting to get onto the property ladder.

Gareth Roberts, Regional Managing Director for Keepmoat Homes in the North West, said:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Hyndburn Council. The new homes we’re building for Great Harwood, which have already garnered significant interest from customers, will help to address housing need within the town and also attract new people to the area, boosting the local economy.”

Councillor Miles Parkinson, Hyndburn Council Leader, said:

“This scheme sees the redevelopment of some brownfield land within the boundary of Great Harwood, delivering housing choice in a prestigious location as well as protecting green belt sites around the town from development. It has also cleared the way to secure a long-term site for Great Harwood Agricultural Society and fantastic new facilities for Great Harwood Rovers Football Club at Heymoor Farm. I look forward to the seeing the benefits of the development being realised for all residents of Great Harwood.”

The first new homes are due to be completed from June 2018, with homes on the development being eligible for the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
