Safety, health, environment and quality
At Keepmoat Homes we recognise the significant impact that the construction sector has on our environment and the role we have in building new sustainable and efficient homes. We understand issues such as climate change, resource depletion and water quality affect us all. So as a business we are determined to reduce our impacts and become an environmentally sustainable business.
We have identified our priority environmental areas for our business, these are:
- Carbon & Energy
- Waste & Resource efficiency
- Pollution & Water
- Ecology & Biodiversity
- Environmental Protection
We understand that people want homes that minimise running costs and we are working with advancements in technology that reduce people’s long-term impacts on our environment.
As a developer we regularly review our objectives for each of these areas, driving continual improvements across the business. We provide regular environmental training for our staff and work to an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001.
We are also looking at new and innovative off site construction and sourcing local and sustainable materials.
As a major property developer we also recognise the need to play a larger role in the construction industry, sitting on Build UK Environment leadership group, supporting the grown in Britain Campaign and collaborating with our supply chain partners.
